2025 - REFLECTIONS:

From Phillip Island to Japan

As 2025 draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on what has been an incredible year - one filled with learning, laughter, travel, and more camera gear than any airline would comfortably approve.

My teaching journey in 2025 took me to some truly spectacular locations, including Phillip Island, Sydney, South Australia, Lara Wetlands, the South Island of New Zealand, Sumba Island in Indonesia, the Canadian Rockies, Alaska, and Japan. Each destination offered breathtaking scenery, unforgettable experiences, and of course, plenty of early mornings chasing the perfect light. Wonderful places, beautiful landscapes, and great company - what more could I ask for?

Looking ahead, 2026 is now fully booked, and I am beyond excited about the incredible new destinations we have planned. These trips will include local guides and professional photographers who will take us deep into the heart of some truly special locations. I am very much looking forward to these adventures and the creative energy they bring.

What has truly surprised and humbled me is that 2027 is already filling, even though I have not yet advertised. Photographers have been reaching out, asking me to take them to various places and teach them along the way. I feel genuinely honoured to be asked. If you are interested in my 2027 tours, workshops, or one-on-one training, please feel free to message me-I am currently finalising several workshops.

This year, I also had the pleasure of meeting so many kind, passionate photographers from all over the world. I am especially excited to welcome new photographers joining me in 2026 from the USA and Canada, alongside many talented Australian photographers. Your continued support means more to me than you know, and I am always available to help-sometimes all it takes is a phone call.

On a personal note, 2025 brought some wonderful professional milestones. I was thrilled to be a Finalist in the Seascape section and to win Gold Medals  - against worldwide competition. I was also published in a magazine, participated in live interviews, and appeared on a podcast. It truly was a great year.

That said, I firmly believe we are all winners. We are artists. We create images to the best of our knowledge and ability at that moment in time. You do not need to enter a competition to be a winner or to be a good photographer. Growth, passion, and creativity matter far more. We are all still learning - and we always will be - rowing our own boats, sometimes in calm waters, sometimes against the tide.

As I close out this year, I want to say a heartfelt thank you. Keep up the great work - you are doing incredibly well. I love seeing how much you have grown, and I look forward to your continued support through 2026 and beyond.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, safe, and healthy New Year. I cannot wait to see what we create together next.

Wendy
